The advent of Spring brings blossoms of cherry, apricot, peach, pear, plum and apple trees in the surrounding orchards. Kelowna's Official Flower, the 'Okanagan Sunflower', showers the mountainsides with a golden haze and brings out hikers, bikers and golfers galore.

Golf ImageIn 2007, Kelowna was named the “Best Canadian Golf City” by SCOREGolf, Canada’s largest golf magazine. Kelowna offers one of the longest and driest golf seasons in Canada. Golfers of every ability will enjoy the variety of the Okanagan's 40+ golf courses.

July marks the beginning of fruit harvest starting with cherries through to apples in September. Long hot summers make Okanagan Lake a popular choice for summer fun and relaxation. Tour orchards and vineyards, wine and dine, golf and swim, or shop to your heart's content.

Our local museums, art galleries, unique shops, fruit and wine orchards, and breathtaking scenery will bring you back again and again. Proudly rated as one of the top cultural centres in Canada, Kelowna entertains the only wine festival in North America that takes place during the heart of grape harvest as well as another in the Spring. The Annual Okanagan Fall Wine Festival continues to be ranked as one of the top 100 events in North America and is a "must attend" among your vacation plans.

Lake Okanagan, over 100 kilometres long, is dotted with numerous beaches, waterfalls, and trails. You'll love Mission Creek Greenway. 22 kilometres long from the shores of Okanagan Lake to Mission Creek Falls, the Creek is well-travelled year round by walkers, hikers, runners, bicyclists, and equestrians.

An hour's drive from our legendary champagne powder skiing, Big White and Silver Star Ski Resorts boast short lift lines and uncrowded slopes. Nearby Crystal Mountain and Apex Mountain offer other ski and snowboard choices.
